The Harvesting Process

Today, is a basketball review day! Break into two teams. Use the box on the front table as your “Basket” and a crumpled up ball of paper as your “basketball”. Just like basketball their are three different point values for the shots: 3 point, 2 point, and a 1 point shot. each team will take turns rotating through its members. You select the point value of question you want. Then you will be asked a question. Your entire team is allowed to help answer. If it is not answered correctly the other team gets a chance at the question. Once the question is answered correctly the person who is up gets to shoot the ball. If he or she makes it the points are awarded to that team. The team with the highest number of points when all the questions are gone wins! Take 10 minutes to review your notes over the Animal Harvesting Process.

Once your basketball game is over please complete the Crossword Puzzle over the vocabulary terms from Farm Gate to Dinner Plate-Conversion of Muscle to Meat.

If there is extra time you have the rest of the class period to work on your Blog Post or other home work.

Small Act of Kindness

During the holiday season we think about the joys of giving, and helping out one another, but now that the holidays are over is giving or showing small acts of kindness any less important? Acts of kindness are little things that can make a huge difference in someones mood, their day, and even their lives. We never know the true power of our actions towards others. What we do know is how the actions of others make us feel, and what difference they make in our lives. Your Blog Post this week will center around another person’s small act of kindness and how it impacted you.

Small Act of KindnessWhat’s one small act of kindness that made a big difference to you? Why did this act make such a difference? What are some small acts of kindness you could do for others to make a big difference to them?

Blog Post assignments will be given on the first school day of the week and will be due at 5pm the last school day of the week. The post is worth 20 points. This is the Grading Rubric that will be used to score your posts.
