Complete Stranger

The world is full of people, and there is no way for us to know them all. Working with strangers is something that we will always have to face. Whether it is pushing a cart through a grocery store and moving out of the way of a stranger and their cart, or going for a walk and seeing a stranger walking their dog. Just because they are strangers does not mean that we can brush them off as if they don’t matter and be rude of unkind to them.

Complete Stranger

What is the nicest thing you have ever done for a complete stranger? Where were you? When did this happen? How do you think the stranger felt? How did you feel after helping them?

Your Blog is due Friday at 5pm.

Super Bowl Commercial

Letter from Dwight Armstrong the Chief Operating Officer of the National FFA Organization and Rob Cooper Executive Director of the National FFA Foundation:

Dear Ag Ed and FFA Leaders,

As many of you may have seen, the National FFA Foundation and National FFA Organization cooperated with RAM Trucks on a two-minute Super Bowl commercial honoring the American Farmer that aired during the fourth quarter of the telecast.  The ad, which features a popular poem by the late broadcaster Paul Harvey, is being supported with a cover wrap of USA Today and a significant Web presence across other electronic media.

The ad serves as a call to action for the public to celebrate 2013 as the Year of the Farmer.  Individuals may do so by visiting a special Web page, viewing the positive messaging of the video and inviting others to do the same.

RAM will contribute up to $1,000,000 to the National FFA Foundation based on the views of the video and activity on the website.  The bulk of the new funding will be dedicated to supporting the FFA hunger initiative “Feeding the World–Starting at Home.”

The ad web page is not a sales site.  Individuals will only be asked to view the video and recommend it to others.  There is a link on the website for those interested in learning more about RAM products as well as a link for individuals wishing to learn more about FFA and agricultural education.

Please spread the word to view the commercial on line here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMpZ0TGjbWE

Supporting this positive messaging about the American Farmer will raise awareness of the National FFA Organization within the general public while providing significant support to a major FFA initiative.  We ask that you share news about the opportunity among members and supporters as appropriate.

Many thanks,

Dwight Armstrong                                                           Rob Cooper
Chief Executive Officer                                                  Executive Director
National FFA Organization                                            National FFA Foundation

What is your initial reaction to the commercial? Why? What is your reaction to the agreement between the National FFA and Ram Trucks? How do you think the general publics view of Agriculture has changed or will change as a result of this commercial? How can we as agriculturist spread our story of Agriculture, and make a positive impact on the image of Agriculture.

Change…

We all change with time. I am not the same person I was a year ago and neither are you. Change and growth are a part of life. It is important for us to take time to reflect on how and why we have changed and grown over time. This will help us see the direction we are headed and make changes in our lives if we don’t like the path we are headed down.

Change

How have you changed from 5 years ago? Are you happy with the changes in your life? Why or why not? How do you hope to be different in 5 years from now. What are you going to do to get there?

Your blog post is due Friday at 5pm.
